The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka has demanded that the Governor should dismiss the Congress government in the state after slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ were allegedly raised in the Assembly premises. BJP also demanded NIA probe in the incident.

The delegation, led by Leader of opposition in Assembly R. Ashoka and LoP in Council Kota Srinivas Poojari met the Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and submitted a memorandum in this regard. BJP has alleged that during the celebration of the victory of Congress candidate Syed Nasir Hussain in the Rajya Sabha elections, some Congress workers had raised slogans of Pakistan Zindabad at Vidhan Soudh on Tuesday night. The BJP has urged the Governor to get a reply from the Chief Minister and Home Minister of Karnataka over the pro-Pakistan slogans.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had reacted to the issue yesterday and assured action once the forensic science laboratory (FSL) report is received. Ashoka alleged that the Congress is trying to cover up the case as it plans to tamper with the investigation report of the Forensic Science Laboratory.

In his complaint to the Governor, Ashoka alleged, ‘This act of anti-national slogans from Naseer Hussain's supporters needs to be thoroughly probed by the national agencies like National Investigation Agency or Intelligence Bureau and culprits should be booked under the law and punished.’ ‘This being the scenario of the state, we as a responsible party of opposition in this democratic system urge His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka to recommend for the dismissal of this government summarily, as this government failed utterly to comply to the Law and Order situation and to uphold the constitutional values,’ he added.
