Opposition bloc INDIA today resolved to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha (LS) elections together ‘as far as possible’ and asserted that the seat-sharing arrangement among the 28 members of the bloc in different states will be concluded at the earliest in a spirit of ‘give-and-take’.

Opposition bloc leaders took crucial decisions, including setting up of a 14-member coordination committee comprising senior leaders Sharad Pawar, K.C. Venugopal, Hemant Soren and Tejashwi Yadav among others. A total of four sub-groups in the alliance has also formed, each with separate responsibilities. All the member parties of the bloc will organise public rallies soon in different parts of the country on several issues. They also resolved to coordinate their respective communications and media strategies and campaigns with the theme ‘Judega Bharat, Jeetega India, (India will unite, India will win)' in different languages. Seat-sharing will be finalised by September 30.

Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government alleging them of ‘playing vendetta politics.’ He said that Prime Minister Modi wants to keep states under check. ‘Investors are forced to move their investments and projects out of opposition ruled states to states ruled by the BJP,’ he added. Kharge also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not investigating the alleged stock manipulation of Adani Group.
