Mohan Yadav takes oath as Madhya Pradesh CM

BJP leader Mohan Yadav today took oath as the 19the chief minister (CM) of Madhya Pradesh. Jagdish Devda (MLA from Malhargarh in Mandsaur) and Rajendra Shukla (legislator from Rewa) were sworn in as deputy chief ministers, while former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will be the Assembly Speaker.

Governor Mangubhai C. Patel was administered the oath of office to him at the sprawling Motilal Nehru Stadium, Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maharasthra CM Eknath Shinde and other central ministers. 

Mohan Yadav was a former education minister and three-time MLA from Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain South. No other minister took oath along with the chief minister and his two deputies. The Cabinet expansion may take place after deliberations with the top party leaders. In the assembly elections held on November 17, the BJP secured victory in Madhya Pradesh by claiming 163 seats out of the total 230-member assembly.
