Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is expected to make her electoral debut from the party's Uttar Pradesh stronghold of Raebareli. Meanwhile, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will contest the Lok Sabha election (LS) from Uttar Pradesh's Amethi constituency, which he lost to the BJP’s Smriti Irani in the 2019 elections.
Rahul Gandhi will also contest from Wayanad in Kerala, a seat he won in the previous general election. Earlier, an Uttar Pradesh Congress leader said that party leader Rahul Gandhi will contest the Lok Sabha election from Amethi – a constituency he has represented several times since 2002. Rahul Gandhi, represented Amethi in Parliament from 2002 till 2019.
Priyanka Gandhi's foray into electoral politics has been long-awaited, with speculations rife after Sonia Gandhi's withdrawal from Raebareli, a constituency she has successfully represented five times in the past. An official announcement in this regard could be made after Congress CEC meeting scheduled to be held on March 7.
