Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit back at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his ‘Shakti’ remark and said that he is willing to sacrifice his life for 'Shakti'.
Addressing a public rally at Jagtial in Telangana, Modi said, ‘The INDI alliance in their manifesto said that their fight is against 'Shakti'. For me, every mother, daughter and sister is a form of 'Shakti'. I worship them in the form of 'Shakti'. I am the worshiper of Bharat Mata... He said that on the one hand there are people who talk about the destruction of power while on the other hand there are people who worship Shakti. Modi added the people's support to BJP is growing continuously in Telangana.
PM also accused the Congress and the BRS of colluding with each other. He said, ‘Though the Congress had many promises before coming to power but it is now unable to fulfil them. But the BRS is not talking about the unfulfilled promises of Congress. Instead both of them are helping out each other and are showering abuses on him.’
During the closing rally of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi, took on the NDA regime comparing them to the powerful Hinduism symbol of ‘Shakti,’ often associated with Maa Durga, and declaring the opposition’s fight against it. BJP leaders said it has become the nature of the Congress-led opposition alliance to humiliate Sanatan Dharma and Hindus. Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said Rahul Gandhi was speaking against Sanatan just like DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin. While, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also targeted Rahul Gandhi saying: ‘there should be some limit to which a person hates the other’. BJP leader Khushbu Sundar also said she ‘was not surprised’ at the Congress leader's statement.
