Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the Modi government for allegedly using misleading employment data for public relations.
Mallikarjun Kharge claimed the Modi government is using dubious employment data which is grossly inflated by counting 'unpaid labour' and 'one-hour work per week', as a ridiculous PR exercise. Kharge said no amount of ‘whitewashing’ by the Modi government can change the truth that lakhs of job aspirants have to daily struggle on the road with very few jobs.
Targeting the government over a news related to unemployment, Congress chief said in Maharashtra, where 1.11 lakh women have applied for 1,257 constables and constable drivers posts in Mumbai Police. He further said that last month, more than 25,000 job seekers applied for 2,216 loader positions at Mumbai Airport. A similar chaotic situation was seen in Gujarat, where 1,800 people competed for only 10 positions in a private company. He added that unemployment has been the biggest curse under Modi government.
Congress chief also criticized the BJP's promise of creating two crore jobs per year, calling it a betrayal of the people of India.
