Bond yields trade higher on Tuesday

Bond yields traded higher on Tuesday Reserve Bank of India's article on 'State of the Economy' published in the October Bulletin has said India's growth outlook is supported by robust domestic engines and private investment showing some encouraging signs despite geopolitical tensions.

In the global market, The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield jumped on Monday as investors digest a flurry of speeches from Federal Reserve policymakers. Furthermore, Oil prices settled nearly higher on Monday, recouping some of last week's more than 7% decline, with no letup of fighting in the Middle East and expected Israeli retaliation on Iran worrying markets about supply from the region.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 12 basis points higher at 6.95% from its previous close of 6.83% on Monday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 12 basis points higher at 6.85% from its previous close of 6.73% on Monday.
