Manganese Ore in talks with Gabon

Manganese Ore India is in talkswith Gabon's government over acquiring possible mining concessions in thecentral African state. The Indian company isexpected to operate one of the many untapped deposits. Gabon has severaluntapped manganese reserves, including in Okondja, Franceville and Ndjole. Gabonis the world's second-largest producer of manganese used in the production ofstainless steels behind Russia.

Manganese Ore India Ltd produces more than half the manganese oreused in India. It operates 10 mines in the central Indian region coveringMaharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Manganese Ore India Ltd is expected to producesome 3 million tonnes of manganese per year from Gabon, adding to its currentcapacity of 4.5-5 million tonnes per year.
