Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited (MGEL) was originally incorporated in the name & style of ‘Rajmata Investments and Finance Limited on December 3,1981 under the Companies Act, 1956 and Certificate for Commencement of Business was obtained on December 21,1981 under the Companies Act, 1956. The name of the company was subsequently changed to ‘Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited’ and a fresh Certificate of Incorporation consequent on Change of Name was obtained from Registrar of Companies, Andhra Pradesh on 13.03.2006.

The company’s prime focus in acquiring theatres in B1 and B2 centers of Tamil Nadu and converting them into modern digital theatres with state of the art viewing experience and extending an opportunity to viewers across various category of centers in Tamil Nadu.
The company had acquired distribution right for various films such as The Mummy, Gandhi My Father, Welcome, Sunday, Heyy Baby, Namastey London, Nanhe Jaisalmer, Om Shanti Om, Partner, Hijack, Eklavya, Cheenikam, etc.
The company had produced five films; these are Dhaam Dhoom, Telling Lies, Sajni, Provoked, Ramji Londonwaley.
Television programes produced by company are broadcast on various chennals as Jaya TV, Surya, Raj, Vasanth, etc. and the programs are Alaipaayuthee, Theem Tharekita, Krishnapaksham, Kannamoochi, Kaara Saarama, Keladi Kanmani, Kichchu, Visswarupam, etc.

Recent developments
Mediaone Global Entertainment has acquired one more theatre at Achrapakkam, Chengalpet District in April 2009. The theatre situated on the main road 2 kms from Melmaruvathur, Chengalpet would be completely refurnished with cushioned seats, centrally air conditioned, digitalized sound system and projection.
On the January 12, 2009 Mediaone had opened its Sri Balaji Theatre A/c DTS at Kanchipuram. The theatre has already screened Tamil super hero 'Vijay' film 'Villu', followed by 'Arya' film 'Naan Kadavul' and currently the mega hit film 'Arundhathi'.
The other theatres to be opened during the 2nd half of 2009 are at Kelambakkam, Trivelangadu, Oragadam, Thirutani, Puditurpettai, and Minjur.
