VA Tech, Nagarjuna Construction win Rs 170-cr Oman order

VA Tech Wabag Ltd and Nagarjuna Construction Co International have jointly bagged a Rs 170-crore order to set up a desalination plant in Oman.The contract, from Oman-based Majis Industrial Services S.A.O.C., involves setting up a 16,000 cu.m (4 x 4,000 m3 per day) sea water desalination plant to provide process water for industrial users. Work on the reverse osmosis plant to come in the Sohar Industrial Area will start in January 2011 and will be completed in about 20 months. With this, the consolidated order backlog for VA Tech Wabag would be around Rs 3,300 crore.

The scope of the project includes design, engineering, construction, installation and start-up of the desalination plant, and also operation and maintenance.VA Tech Wabag is a leading player in the water treatment space, with a market presence in India, West Asia, North Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, China and South-East Asia.crackcrack
