Tata Motors to increase output of light commercial trucks

Tata Motors, country’s largest vehicle maker, is in process of increasing output of its light commercial trucks from early 2012. The company will increase output from its Pantnagar plant in North India by up to 90,000 vehicles per year. The production rise will take the plant's annual output to around 450,000 vehicles.

Sales of commercial vehicles, a key indicator of the country's economic activity, rose 35 percent in November, data from an industry body showed.

Besides, the company has launched two luxury buses, the Tata Divo, a luxurious long distance inter-city travel bus and the Tata Starbus Ultra, a modern and practical offering for commuting within the city.
