Idea Cellular inches up on adding 21.70 lakh mobile subscribers in November

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 83.05, up by 0.15 points or 0.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 82.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 84.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 84.85 and Rs. 82.80 respectively. So far 1,56,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 103.65 on 06-Sep-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 55.65 on 28-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 87.00 and Rs. 81.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 27,462.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 46.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.54% and 33.46% respectively.

Idea Cellular, India's fourth-biggest cellular carrier has added 21.70 lakh mobile subscribers in November. Following the said addition, the company’s total subscriber count stood at 10.30 crore.

Recently, Idea Cellular garnered maximum number of subscribers from other companies via the mobile number portability (MNP) route. The telecom service provider had reported a net gain of 15.72 lakh users as on November 15, 2011. Other two major telecom operators, Vodafone and Bharti Airtel followed Idea Cellular with net gains of 12.06 lakh and 2.95 lakh customers, respectively.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level; it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
