Havells India, a leading player in the lighting and fixtures segment is entering into a joint venture agreement with Shanghai Yaming Lighting, a company based at the People’s Republic of China. The 50:50 joint venture is named Jiangsu Havells Sylvania Lighting.
The joint venture aims at providing energy and cost efficient products for Global Sylvania and local China markets. It entails an investment of $50 million and target an annual turnover of $100 million in the next three years. It will increasingly focus on introducing energy efficient and green lighting solutions including but not limited to LED’s, CMI, HID and lighting features.
Shanghai Yaming Lightings established in 1923 at Shanghai in China for making incandescent lamps. The company was the first producer of lamp in China.
