Punj Lloyd bags highway project worth Rs 1,050 crore from GMR

Punj Lloyd has received a letter of intent from GMR Projects for undertaking design, engineering, procurement and construction of 124 km of six lane of Chittorgarh bypass to Udaipur, in the state of Rajasthan worth Rs 1,050 crore. The project is scheduled for commissioning in 36 months and has been awarded to the company on a turnkey fixed EPC price basis.

The scope of work for the project includes design and construction. The project forms part of phase V of the National Highways Development Programme of NHAI for upgrading the existing four lane section to six lane.

With this contract, the order back log for the company on a consolidated basis has gone up to Rs 28,725 crore, reflecting the total value of unexecuted orders as on September 30, 2011 and the orders received after that day.

Presently, the company is executing another EPC order for GMR Hyderabad Vijayawada Expressways for NHAI. The Group has successfully and timely executed many NHAI projects in Rajasthan, the famous Jaipur bypass and four-laning and strengthening of 65 km of NH-76 with rigid/flexible pavement, to name a few.

Punj Lloyd provides engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and project management services. It provides services to oil and gas, energy, infrastructure petrochemical, telecom broadband and utilities sectors, among others.
