NTPC has commissioned Unit- 2 of 660 MW of Sipat Super Thermal Power Project on December 24, 2011. Pursuant to commissioning, the total capacity of NTPC group is now 36,014 MW.
With the commissioning of this unit, the total installed capacity of Sipat Super Thermal Power Project stands at 2,320 MW.
Earlier the company commissioned the Unit No 1 of 660 MW of Sipat Super Thermal Power Project on June 28, 2011.
Recently, the company announced that it is in process of setting up its biggest solar (green) power station of 50 megawatts in Rajgarh district at Madhya Pradesh entailing an investment of around Rs 700 crore. This will be the company's biggest non-conventional energy project which would be set up in Madhya Pradesh.
