State Bank of Travencore surges on getting nod for rights issue worth Rs 485 crore

State Bank of Travancore is currently trading at Rs 596.50, up by 5.15 points or 0.87% from its previous closing of Rs. 591.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 595.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs 614.55 and Rs 595.00 respectively. So far 5915 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 662.90 on 11-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 364.50 on 14-Mar-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 619.50 and Rs 561.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 3536.54 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.91% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 5.05% and 16.05% respectively.

State Bank of Travencore’s board of directors has approved the rights issue of the equity shares of the bank for up to Rs 485 crore. However, bank’s board of directors, in its meeting held on March 26 had given an in-principle approval to raise Rs 629 crore from the rights issue.

State Bank of Travancore has reported a fall of 59.20% in its net profit at Rs 55.34 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 as compared to Rs 135.63 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank increased by 16.43% at Rs 2566.09 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2203.92 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.
