Britannia Industries is trying to restart operations at its biscuit manufacturing unit in Delhi on July 18, where contract workers have gone on strike since July 7 demanding permanent employment status.
The company has termed the strike “illegal” and the company had stopped production 10 days ago at its Lawrence Road unit in Delhi. However, the strike has had a very small impact on the overall business operations.
The contract workers had blocked the entry of permanent employees into the factory, forcing the company to stop operations.
Britannia, one of the India’s biggest brands of the country, has a market share of over 33%. More-than-a-century old Britannia has launched big brands in FMCG Segment. The company is expanding its customer base by launching new products and renovating existing ones.
