Essel Propack, world's largest laminated tubes maker is focusing more on non-oral care segments and wants the said segment to contribute half of its total sales in the next five years up from 30% at present. The company in a bid to de-risk its business model and earn higher margins is concentrating more on non-oral care clients.
The non-oral care segment has been growing at a much faster rate globally than the oral care and the numbers are attractive too, the company want to encash this opportunity. In India, most multinationals and homegrown personal care firms have been expanding their portfolio in segments such as toiletries, skin creams and shampoo, where laminated tubes are used.
Recently, Essel Propack had inaugurated its new facility in Goa. The expansion at this facility was an outcome of an exclusive long term contract with one of the leading multinational FMCG Company. Based on the committed volume from this anchor customer, EP India had expanded the Goa facility at an additional investment of around Rs 40 crore.
