State Bank of Travancore unveils savings deposit scheme for minors

State Bank of Travancore (SBT), an associate of State Bank of India, has introduced a new savings deposit scheme, SBT Little Star, for children up to the age of 18 years. The parent or guardian of the child can open this account on the name of the child and further the child can operate this account. Besides, ATM and internet banking facility with limited options will be provided to child above the age of 15 years.

State Bank of Travancore (SBT) was incorporated in 1945 as Travancore Bank sponsored by the erstwhile princely state of Travancore. Under a special statute of the Indian Parliament (SBI subsidiary Banks Act 1959) it has been made an Associate of the State Bank of India and a member of the State Bank Group, the largest banking group in India. The Bank is alive to its developmental role and actively participates in meeting need based requirements of Small and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture. It has consistently met the benchmarks for priority sector advances stipulated by the Government from time to time
