Amrutanjan in talks to buy beverages co

The promoters of Amrutanjan Healthcare will soon enter the food and beverages business by acquiring a company with a turnover of about Rs 20 crore. The Rs 100-crore company has also decided to diversify into pain clinics. This will be followed by smaller clinics in the city. In the second phase, it will open such clinics in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

 

Though the bulk of its sales come from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra markets too contribute well. It is targeting a turnover of Rs 124 crore in the financial year 2010-11 from Rs 100 crore last year.

 

The 117-year-old company held a market share of 10 per cent in the Rs 1,000-crore pain balm market in the country. The Chennai-based Mudra South prepared the ad campaign with Mahesh Babu for the white pain balm. For its traditional yellow balm, the company has roped in actor Asin.
