Jaiprakash Power Ventures inks MoU to sell its Hydro portfolio

Jaiprakash Power Ventures has inked a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSW Energy, to sell its 100% stake in three operational plants. The 3 plant to be acquired includes a 300 MW Baspa-II Hydro Electric Plant, 1091 MW Karcham Wangtoo Hydro Electric Plant and 500 MW Bina Thermal Power Plant.

JSW Energy, part of the JSW Group, is a growing energy company. The Group has diversified interests in carbon steel, power, mining, industrial gases, port facilities, aluminium, cement and information technology.

Jaiprakash Power Ventures currently owns and operates 2,951 MW of power capacity, which includes 1,791 MW of hydro capacity and 1160 MW of thermal capacity.
