Hindustan Zinc has registered 4% fall in second quarter output at 213kt in quarter under review as compared to 222kt in the corresponding prior period. Moreover, the output for first half of FY15 (H1FY15) declined by 18% at 376kt as compared to 459kt in same period of FY14.
Of total Integrated production of refined zinc was stood at 174kt in Q2 and 312kt in H1FY14, down by 11% and 15% respectively from a year ago. Meanwhile, integrated production of refined lead was 26kt in Q2 and 47kt in the six months, down 12% and 16% respectively from a year ago. Integrated saleable silver production was 67 tonnes in Q2 and 123 tonnes in the half year, down by 19% and 23% as compared to corresponding prior periods.
Hindustan Zinc manufactures three qualities of zinc -- special high grade zinc used in construction, infrastructure, household appliances etc; high grade zinc and prime western zinc. It manufactures silver used in photographic material, conductor, jewellery, etc.
