Coromandel International dips on stopping operations at Visakhapatnam unit

Coromandel International is currently trading at Rs. 292.45, down by 1.50 points or 0.51% from its previous closing of Rs. 293.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 293.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 293.95 and Rs. 289.00 respectively. So far 7373 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 339.00 on 12-Sep-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 195.50 on 04-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 307.10 and Rs. 288.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 8370.82 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.21% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.84% and 23.95% respectively.

Hudhud cyclone which crossed the coastal Andhra Pradesh on October 12, 2014, near Visakhapatnam, has resulted in temporary stoppage of operations at Coromandel International's unit at Visakhapatnam. The cyclone has not caused any major damage to the Company's manufacturing facilities. The power supply has been disrupted and is expected to be resumed in a day or two.

Coromandel International is the country’s second-largest phosphatic fertilizer player. Its crop protection business produces insecticides, fungicides and herbicides and markets these products in India and across the globe. The firm has also ventured into the retail business, setting up more than 640 rural retail centres in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
