The power Transmission & Distribution IC, part of Larsen & Tourbo’s (L&T) division has bagged major EPC orders from GCC countries aggregating to Rs 1,366 crore. The order includes construction of 225 km overhead transmission line, 66 km of underground cabling including 8 substations and associated cabling works.
Larsen & Tourbo (L&T) Saudi Arabia LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of L&T has bagged one of the largest orders valued at Rs 597 crore for construction of the 225 km of 380kV transmission line project from Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) connected with Haramain High Speed Railway.
The company has also bagged two EPC orders aggregating Rs 497 crore from UAE. The first from Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC), valued at Rs 422 crore is for the construction of 5 medium voltage substations and associated 33kV cabling works for ADPC’s Khalifa Port & Industrial Zone Project. This is to be completed in 18 months. The other order, valued at Rs 75 crore secured from Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), is for the constriction of 132 kV cabling and associated works, to be completed in 11 months.
L&T has secured a breakthrough order valued at Rs 185 crore from Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) for engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 66 km of 220 kV underground cabling works.
In addition L&T (Oman) LLC, a JV company in Muscat Oman has secured Rs 87 crore order for the construction of 3 MV Substations including the associated 33 kV cabling works from Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC), to be completed in 9 months. These new orders further reinforce L&T`s operational competency and customer goodwill garnered in GCC Countries.
