Mysore Petro Chemicals shuts down its PA plant at Karnataka

Mysore Petro Chemicals has taken a planned shutdown of its Phthalic Anhydride (PA) plant at Raichur, Karnataka for change of catalyst. The shutdown is expected to last for approximately three weeks i.e. upto July 08, 2011. Further, the company has sufficient stock of PA in hand and the product supplies to the customers will be unaffected during the period of shutdown.

Last year in December, Mysore Petro Chemicals’ Phthalic Anhydride Plant at Raichur, Karnataka had been closed due to breakdown in the Distillation Section. The shutdown was expected to last for approximately one week.

Mysore Petro Chemicals is engaged in the manufacture and sale of chemicals. Its products include phthalicanhydride and maleicanhydride. The company had installed capacity to produce 12,000 metric tonnes of PA and 5,400 metric tonnes of MA. Mysore Petro Chemicals PA plant is located at Raichur District, Karnataka, and its MA plant is located at Taloja, Maharashtra.
