Amara Raja Batteries soars on reporting 6% rise in Q2 net profit

Amara Raja Batteries is currently trading at Rs. 713.00, up by 17.75 points or 2.55% from its previous closing of Rs. 695.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 700.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 718.45 and Rs. 697.00 respectively. So far 123126 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 718.45 on 11-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 305.10 on 11-Nov-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 718.45 and Rs. 643.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12061.92 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.06% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.89% and 21.05% respectively.

Amara Raja Batteries has registered 6.05% rise in its net profit at Rs 100.30 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 94.58 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased 31.51% at Rs 1071.17 crore for Q2FY15 as compared Rs 814.49 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Amara Raja Batteries is engaged in manufacturing of industrial and automotive batteries. It was founded in 1985. ARBL was first to introduce Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries with three-year warranty in industrial and automotive applications.
