Federal Bank receives CNBC TV18 Financial Inclusion Award

Federal Bank, a Kerala-based private sector bank has received the CNBC TV18 Financial Inclusion Award for its path-breaking contributions towards financial inclusion and empowerment financially backward persons.  Federal Bank has been setting an example to banks in providing financial education and literacy to people in backward areas as well as for taking technology to the less privileged in far flung and hard-to-reach areas and make them open and operate bank accounts using bio-metric smart cards and micro ATMs.

Federal Bank is a major Indian commercial bank in the private sector headquartered at Aluva, Kerala having more than thousand branches and ATMs spread across different States in India. The bank has posted a rise of 6.42% in its net profit at Rs 240.30 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2014 as compared to Rs 225.81 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
