Videocon Industries’ telecom arm invests Rs 130 crore to upgrade 2G network

Videocon Telecom, a subsidiary of Videocon Industries, is upgrading its 2G network to 2.75 G EDGE (enhanced data for GSM evolution) in Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Gujarat with an investment of Rs 130 crore to drive data uptake before it jumps to the 4G technology next year.

Further, the company is also rolling out a marketing campaign to support the network upgrade. Over next few months, the company plans to spend Rs 50 crore on its marketing campaign, which includes above the line ( ATL) and below the line (BTL) marketing.

Videocon Industries, established two decades ago, is a global conglomerate. Videocon’s businesses consist of manufacturing, marketing and distribution of consumer electronics products and oil & gas extraction.
