MTNL unveils mobile application for Android smartphones

State-run telecom firm MTNL has launched a mobile application for Android smartphones by using which customers can lodge service complaints, pay bills and book new connection. Through this app, customer will be able to access MTNL services without need for visiting MTNL office. Besides, the company has also launched free one month broadband rental scheme and Jodi plan for its pre-paid customers.

Under broadband offer, people buying MTNL broadband connection till January 26 will not have to first month rental for scheme priced at and below Rs 999. While, under Jodi plan, MTNL has announced that a pre-paid customer can opt for one more MTNL pre-paid number within same city.

MTNL was set up by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, and introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India's key metros -- Delhi and Mumbai.
