Wockhardt declines as its arm recalls drugs in US

Wockhardt is currently trading at Rs. 1003.55, down by 7.20 points or 0.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 1010.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 995.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1009.00 and Rs. 981.20 respectively. So far 101299 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1087.00 on 12-Dec-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 386.00 on 27-Jan-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1023.60 and Rs. 970.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 10964.98 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.53% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.27% and 17.07% respectively.

Wockhardt’s US-based arm -- Wockhardt USA Inc -- has recalled 11,18,400 Metoprolol Succinate extended-release tablets, a hypertension drug, for ‘failed dissolution specifications’. The tablets have been manufactured by Mumbai-based Wockhardt and distributed by Wockhardt USA LLC.

Wockhardt is one of the few companies with end to end integrated capabilities for its products, starting with the manufacture of the oral and sterile API’s, the dose forms and marketing through wholly owned subsidiary in the US, enabling the company to capture maximum value.
