Cairn India tumbles on slide in crude oil prices

Cairn India is currently trading at Rs. 229.35, down by 6.05 points or 2.57% from its previous closing of Rs. 235.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 236.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 236.00 and Rs. 228.70 respectively. So far 282713 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 385.00 on 11-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 228.40 on 17-Dec-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 244.90 and Rs. 234.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 43034.96 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 59.89 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.65 % and 13.47 % respectively.

Shares of Cairn India declined on sharp slide in crude oil prices. Lower crude oil prices will result in lower realizations from crude sales for oil exploration firms like Cairn India. Brent crude oil prices fell below $50 a barrel for the first time since May 2009 on Wednesday as global business growth slowed to its weakest in a year.
