Zee Media soars on getting nod to raise Rs 200 crore through rights issue

Zee Media Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 16.65, up by 0.60 points or 3.74% from its previous closing of Rs. 16.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 16.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 16.65 and Rs. 16.25 respectively. So far 42113 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B ' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 24.35 on 13-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 12.60 on 08-May-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 16.65 and Rs. 15.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 601.16 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.11%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.64% and 20.25% respectively.

Zee Media Corporation has received Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) approval to raise up to Rs 200 crore through rights issue. The company had filed its application with the capital market regulator for the proposed rights issue in January through its lead merchant banker Axis Capital.

The company will use the raised fund towards purchase of equipment and accessories for production and broadcasting, repayment of certain loans availed by the company, funding subsidiaries for repayment of loans, and other general corporate purposes.

Zee Media Corporation (ZMCL), formerly known as Zee News, broadcasts 10 news channels including two national ones - Zee News and Zee Business.
