Gujarat Alkalies rises on inking pact with CSIR-IICT

Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals is currently trading at Rs. 158.50, up by 0.55 points or 0.35% from its previous closing of Rs. 157.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 160.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 161.20 and Rs. 158.30 respectively. So far 6283 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 237.00 on 23-May-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 157.00 on 26-Mar-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 169.00 and Rs. 157.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1164.71 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 46.28% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 5.82% and 47.90% respectively.

Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals and CSIR -Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) have entered into agreement for the development of Hydrazine Hydrate technology. Under this agreement, the Hyderabad-based CSIR-IICT has developed a bench scale process for manufacturing hydrazine hydrate. The company has also successfully demonstrated it on a pilot scale at GACL’s Dahej complex.

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals is engaged in business of manufacturing basic chemicals such as sodium cyanide, sodium ferrocyanide, chloromethanes, hydrochloric acid, caustic potash, potassium carbonate, phosphoric acid (85%) and hydrogen peroxide.
