Gujarat Narmada shines despite reporting marginal fall in Q3 net profit

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company is currently trading at Rs. 90.25, up by 1.25 points or 1.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 89.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 89.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 91.40 and Rs. 89.15 respectively. So far 61391 shares were traded on the counter.

The company has posted a fall of 2.44% in its net profit at Rs 86.19 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 88.35 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However total income has increased by 25.06% at Rs 1042.88 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 833.89 crore year ago.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertiliser Company (GNFC) was set up in Bharuch, Gujarat in the year 1976. The company is a joint sector enterprise that was promoted by the Government of Gujarat and the Gujarat State Fertilizer Company (GSFC).
