Hindustan Media Ventures moves higher on the bourses

Hindustan Media is currently trading at Rs. 140.10, up by 0.30 points or 0.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 139.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 141.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 143.00 and Rs. 139.00 respectively. So far 161 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 173.00 on 09-May-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 102.25 on 30-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 143.00 and Rs. 132.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1028.25 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 77.69% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.19% and 7.12% respectively.

Hindustan Media Ventures has launched the Hindi daily newspaper, namely, ‘Hindustan’ in Moradabad with effect from February 24, 2012.

Recently, the company had commenced printing of Hindi daily newspaper, namely, ‘Hindustan’ in Aligarh, which was till now, being served by a nearby print location. The company had commenced the printing with effect from December 10, 2011.

Hindustan Media Ventures is one of the leading print media companies in India in terms of readership. The company publishes and prints ‘Hindustan’, the third largest daily newspaper in India in terms of readership, with a readership of 9.3 million readers.
