Sanghvi Movers, India’s largest crane-hiring company, will add 56 cranes to its fleet by December at a cost of Rs 360 crore. The company currently has 327 cranes in its fleet, whose gross block is Rs 1,073 crore and utilization level is 79%. Gross block is the sum of the purchase value of all the cranes in the fleet.

 

The company has already placed orders for these cranes and they will be delivered between April and December. All the cranes would be utilised for power projects. It had till December 31 spent about Rs 100 crore of its planned capex of Rs 157 crore. It will spend the rest this quarter to acquire one new and eight used cranes.

 

For the quarter ended December 31, the company’s net profit fell 12.61% to Rs 20.92 crore as against the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Its revenues dropped to Rs 82.41 crore from Rs 88.38 crore in the year-ago period.
