Bajaj Auto plans to make 4 million units this fiscal

Bajaj Auto sold 2.85 million vehicles during the previous financial year, which is the highest ever in its history. The figure includes nearly nine lakh vehicles which were exported, also the highest ever in its history. Bajaj has set a target of manufacturing 4 million units in 2010-11.

 

During March 2010, motorcycle sales grew 85% to 2,44,828 units over March 2009 figures of 1,32,253 units. Total two and three-wheeler sales was up 78% to 2,74,233 from 1,54,139 units in March. Exports during the month were up 39% to 65,135 units from 46,874 units during the year-ago period.

 

Sales in the fourth quarter of FY10 were at 8,08,929 units, representing a growth of 84% over the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Bajaj is hopeful of defending its Ebitda margin of 22% recorded in Q2 and Q3 of FY 10.

 

Motorcycles sales during the in April 2009 to March 2010 period stood at 25,06,749 units, a growth of 31% compared with the year-ago period's figure.
