A joint venture of ANSALDOcaldaie Boilers India (P) Ltd and the Tiruchi-based GB Engineering will put up a facility near Tiruchi to manufacture boilers for thermal power plants based on supercritical technology. The facility that is coming up at Tiruchi will be equipped to produce boilers for 2,000 MW a year. The facility will produce steam drum and other pressure parts, such as pipes. The joint venture will put in around Rs 150 crore to start with.
