Ambuja Cements jumps as its production rises by 11.28% in February

Ambuja Cements is currently trading at Rs. 167.85, up by 3.70 points or 2.25% from its previous closing of Rs. 164.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 166.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 168.70 and Rs. 164.50 respectively. So far 115124 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 182.00 on 07-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 119.90 on 09-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 168.70 and Rs. 156.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 25777.40 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.29% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.63% and 8.75% respectively.

Ambuja Cements reported a rise of 11.28% in February 2012 cement production at 1.99 million tonnes from 1.79 million tonnes for February 2011. Meanwhile, the company’s dispatches were at 2 million tonnes compared with 1.77 million tonnes, registering an increase of 12.74%.

For January-February 2012 period, cement production and dispatches were 3.90 million tonnes and 3.92 million tonnes respectively, compared with 3.64 million tonnes and 3.61 million tonnes respectively in the corresponding period last year.
