Tata Motors’ subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has launched its 2016 Range Rover Evoque in India with prices starting at 47.10 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). Due to the robust success of the original Evoque, designers at Land Rover decided against any significant changes to the new model.
Under the hood, the new Evoque gets the 2.2-litre DW12 engine which is good enough for 188bhp and develops 420Nm of torque from as low as 1750rpm. The car's engine is mated to a 9-speed autobox which includes Drive Select with Paddle shifters and a sport mode. The 9-speed gearbox is 7.5 kg lighter than its six-speed predecessor and helps in delivering a smoother drive.
