Bharat Forge rises on plan to invest Rs 500 crore in setting up defence systems facility

Bharat Forge is currently trading at Rs. 854.00, up by 1.50 points or 0.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 852.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 852.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 859.00 and Rs. 850.00 respectively. So far 14267 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1362.90 on 06-Apr-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 810.30 on 29-Oct-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 885.15 and Rs. 848.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 19851.54 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 46.74% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.91% and 21.34% respectively.

Bharat Forge is planning to invest Rs 500 crore in setting up a defence systems facility in association with a joint venture partner. The company is likely to announce the project early next year.

In the last one year, the new investment commitments in defence and aero space sector are to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore, including Bharat Forge’s proposed project.

Bharat Forge is engaged in manufacturing of close die and open die forging, crankshafts, front axle beams, steering knuckle, connecting rods, rocker arm and many more components.
