Kirloskar Oil Engines has entered into/executed the Business Transfer agreement (“BTA') with KSPG Automotive India, Pune (as the Purchaser) for disposal of its Bearings Business Division ('BBD') on May 20, 2011. The company has sold this business division situated at Khadki, Pune, and MIDC, Ahmednagar as a going concern, for a lump sum consideration of Rs 870 crore, which will be payable on the completion date on cash free and debt free basis.
The company’s net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 declined by 20% to Rs 47.61 crore as compared to Rs 59.56 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010. The company has reported net sales / income from operations of Rs 596.57 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 603.25 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the net profit of the company increased 6% to Rs 173.73 crore as compared to Rs 164.02 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010. The company has reported net sales / income from operations of Rs 2362.98 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 2218.50 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010.
The company manufactures the widest range of diesel engines in India. Its other product range includes irrigation pump sets, diesel generating sets and engine bearings.
