Tata Power spurts as its arm commences 150 MW supply to Kerala

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 65.40, up by 0.25 points or 0.38% from its previous closing of Rs 65.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 65.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 65.50 and Rs. 64.50 respectively. So far 121447 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 92.40 on 02-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 55.55 on 07-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 65.95 and Rs. 61.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 17526.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 50.98% and 15.85% respectively.

Tata Power Company's subsidiary, Maithon Power's power plant has been able to commence 150 MW supply to Kerala with immediate effect, while the balance 900 MW was already being supplied on long term basis. Therefore, with this, the entire 1050 MW is now being supplied to procurers on long term PPA basis.

Maithon Power (MPL), a joint venture of TATA POWER & DVC, has implemented the 1050 MW (2X525 MW units) near the city of Dhanbad in the state of Jharkhand in India. The Project will supply power to four states namely New Delhi, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Kerala as per long term PPA which are currently facing shortage of electricity.
