Idea Cellular gains on plan to launch 4G services in Mysore

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs 139.90, up by 0.50 points or 0.36% from its previous closing of Rs. 139.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 140.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 140.75 and Rs 139.60 respectively. So far 83784 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 203.90 on 17-Apr-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 124.35 on 22-Dec-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 140.80 and Rs. 124.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 50328.27 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.25% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.18% and 28.58% respectively.

Idea Cellular, one of the biggest cellular carrier of the country, will make its foray into 4G services with Mysore as its first city. This is part of the company’s strategy to target semi urban, or smaller towns first with data, ever since it launched 3G services three years ago. The Company will also launch service in several other tier two towns in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Idea is a pan-India integrated GSM operator offering 2G and 3G services, and has its own NLD and ILD operations, and ISP license. Idea has won spectrum to launch 4G services across 10 key markets and has initiated multiple steps towards introduction of 4G LTE services on 1800 MHz, in a phased manner from calendar year 2016 onwards.
