Zee Media rises on acquiring 80% stake in two India Today group companies

Zee Media Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 18.55, up by 0.25 points or 1.37% from its previous closing of Rs. 18.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 18.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 18.60 and Rs. 18.15 respectively. So far 37,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B ' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 26.60 on 13-Nov-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 15.80 on 11-Jun-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 19.40 and Rs. 17.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 873.31 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.11% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.05% and 24.84% respectively.

Zee Media Corporation has bought 80% stake in two India Today group companies - Today Merchandise and Today Retail Network for Rs 166 crore. The two companies together run an e-commerce portal.

Zee will make the payments to India Today in installments. By June end, Zee will spend Rs 39.78 crore to acquire 49 percent stake in both the companies. Zee will take over operational and managerial control by that time.
