13 Jul 2011 Evaluate

HDFC Bank in an attempt to encash the growing number of rich people in the country has launched a new credit card - ‘INFINIA’. This card would be initially issued only to 5,000 individuals and comes with virtually no limits. The ultra premium credit card which accompanies no limits tag is not just in terms of spend, but also the luxuries such customers are habituated to.

The bank is confident that ‘INFINIA’ will soon be the card of choice for India's rich class. INFINIA would be available on both VISA and MasterCard platforms. In 2003, HDFC Bank had launched its first credit card and as of end of March 31, 2011 has got a credit card base of 50.5 lakh.

India's High Networth Individual (HNI) population in 2010 grew 20.8 percent to 1.53 lakh, according to a report by Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management and Capgemini.
