Va Tech Wabag has won a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) order in Nepal for a value of Rs 141 crore. The order which will be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) also includes Operation & Maintenance of the WWTP for a period of 10 years. This is the second order secured by the company from Nepal, the first one being the Melamchi Water Treatment Plant order which is funded by JICA.
The scope of the order includes Rehabilitation and Expansion of Wastewater Treatment Plant at Guheshwori in Nepal. The company will be carrying out rehabilitation and expansion of the WWTP, while the existing plant will be kept operational. The Plant which was constructed in 2002 to treat an average flow of 16.2 MLD, post rehabilitation and expansion, will double the capacity to 32.4 MLD. The salient feature of the plant would include generation of power from bio-gas produced out of the sludge.
