12 May 2016 Evaluate

Sanofi India has reportedly recalled several batches of its painkiller and combination drug Combiflam from shelves after the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) found the product to be of sub-standard. DCGI had issued safety alert first in February, and again in April, after some batches of Combiflam were found not of standard quality due to delayed disintegration of the molecule in the blood stream. The tablets were manufactured at Sanofi’s factory in Ankleshwar, Gujarat.

Sanofi, a global and diversified healthcare leader, discovers, develops and distributes therapeutic solutions focused on patients’ needs. Sanofi has core strengths in the field of healthcare with seven growth platforms: diabetes solutions, human vaccines, innovative drugs, rare diseases, consumer healthcare, emerging markets and animal health.
