Neyveli Lignite rises on plan to set up a 300 Mw solar power plant in Odisha

Neyveli Lignite Corporation is currently trading at Rs 74.40, up by 0.20 points or 0.27% from its previous closing of Rs 74.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 74.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 75.10 and Rs. 74.40 respectively. So far 867 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 94.25 on 07-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 60.35 on 01-Mar-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 76.50 and Rs. 72.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12566.04 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 90.00%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.35% and 1.65% respectively.

Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) is reportedly planning to set up a 300 Mw solar power plant in Balasore district of Odisha. The project cost of installing 1 Mw solar capacity is likely to be around Rs 7 crore-Rs 8 crore.

NLC has already decided to enter solar power generation, with its first project being 50 Mw capacity in Andaman. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has prepared an action plan for Andaman and Nicobar Islands towards achieving its programme of green initiatives.

Neyveli Lignite Corporation is engaged in the business of lignite mining and power generation. At present, the company has four opencast lignite mines.
