CARE revises V-Mart Retail’s long-term bank facilities to ‘A+’

Credit rating agency, CARE Ratings has revised long-term bank facilities worth Rs 45 crore of V-Mart Retail to ‘A+’ from ‘A’. The rating agency has also revised the company’s short-term bank facilities worth Rs 8 crore to ‘A1+’ from ‘A1’. Instruments with ‘A1’ rating are considered to have very strong degree of safety regarding timely payment of financial obligations. Such instruments carry lowest credit risk.

The rating agency has revised the company’s rating on the back of its healthy financial risk profile backed by efficient operating parameters leading to consistent growth in operating income, stable profit margins and comfortable capital structure.

V-Mart Retail is one of the pioneers in setting up stores across various small Indian towns and cities. The company primarily operates in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, with a chain of ‘value retail’ departmental stores offering apparels, general merchandise and kirana, catering to the entire family.
